Icebreaker - Hannah Grace ******/5

Oh. My. Gosh. Even i'm utterly surprised that i'm giving a full rating on a book that was full of smut, considering i hate reading smut!!! I had to include the following scene because it was just hilarious considering the book itself felt like reading porn!!!

So this book was definitely about a grumpy girlfriend, Stas Allen, and a sunshine boyfriend, Nate Hawkins!! I absolutely loved the novel even with all the smut, because the story was simply beautiful!! Nate Hawkins is indeed a "man who was most definitely written by a woman", because no man can write such a male character!!! He's sweet, cute, loving, caring and every positive adjective you can use on a guy!! He's the definition of a green flag and after Atlas Corrigan, i didn't know there will be another guy, but here he is!!! Not perfect, but absolutely near being the perfect fictional guy, who every girl wants in their lives!!

First of all, this is a dual pov novel, about a story between a figure skater and a hockey player. This is a debut novel and the first novel of a series!! I seriously can't believe this is a debut novel, because i just loved the writing and the plot!! I can't wait to see more of the author's works!!

Before obsessing over Nate, i will talk about Stas. She's the female lead and i'm a sucker for strong female leads. She's strong-willed, didn't act like a hopeless teenager!! She knew what she wanted to do with her life and she worked her ass off for it. She was obsessed with planning because she wanted to stick to her schedule. She was confident, grumpy and wasn't afraid to tell what was on her mind!!

Then, there's Nate, THE sunshine boyfriend and a character I didnt think i want to read about, because i absolutely love him!!

This was before they even became friends with benefits!! The fact that he wanted to make her laugh, even when he didnt know her is just..........

When Nate gets to know that Stas and Ryan were friends with benefits, he became jealous and said he can satisfy her all by himself and that she's not allowed to be with another guy!!

Nate didn't want to do it with Stas because he was afraid that she will ghost her for another week, like she did after running away from him the first time!!!

No comment... the quote speaks for itself!!!!

I absolutely loved how Nate treated Stas with so much care. They played house and when he will shower her, wash her hair and comb her hair several times throughout the novel, i absolutely lost it, because he's just so sweet and idk what word i've to use to describe him more!!

When Nate punched Aaron for being a jerk during the party, Stas said he didnt have to defend her, but Nate was adamant because she's worth of defending!!!! It tells how much he values her and wants to protect her life!!!

Nate knew Stas wasn't comfortable in committing so he told her that, she can call him her boyfriend or anything because no matter what she calls him, he wants her as much as she wants him, and that's all that mattered.

When Henry told Stas what her skating partner, Aaron has been saying behind her, it broke her and Nate said these words to her because he knew, she didnt deserve anything Aaron said about her, because she worked her ass off and he knew, she's there with him not because she's using him!!!

When Nate realised he's in love with her and wanted to confess to her during their vacation in Nate's home!! "She's my best friend" Now who's ugly crying here!!!

When JJ, Robbie and Henry ganged up against Nate for being a jerk and not understanding Stas's choices, he knew he made a mistake for not understanding her by being on her shoes!! He promised that whatever happens he will be by her side and will support her!!

One of the hilarious things that happened in the entire novel, except their banters, is when drunk Nate came down in front of boxers, in front of everyone, to get Stas because she wasn't there with him, when he woke up!!!!

And then there's the proposal scene in the epilogue!!! I've no words to describe how much I was happy when he proposed to her and i would've screamed loudly if it wasn't midnight!!

If my man doesn't say these words when proposing, i ain't gonna be marrying him!!!!

Except Aaron and Ian (Nate's father, but he wasn't that much of a jerk compared to Aaron!!!), I absolutely loved every other side character!!! I adore the puckbuddies: specifically Henry, JJ, Robbie and Russ *muffin* and Sabrina!!!!

Sabrina is Stas's bff and later Robbie's gf, and she is such a strong female character!!! Even the guys were afraid of her and didn't want to piss her because she had no filter and would say exactly what she wants to say!! She wasn't scared of guys because she grew up in a family full of brothers!!! I absolutely loved the fact she was there for Stas, and when Aaron kissed her in the arena, she was packing to leave the apartment with Stas, because otherwise she knew she was going to murder Aaron for being a dick!!!

JJ and Robbie are such fun characters and I loved how JJ helped Stas knowing it would piss Nate off, specifically when he gave his hockey jersey for Stas to wear for Halloween!! I liked, how he and others intervened to make Nate realise that he's being a dick for not understanding why Stas's making the choices that she made, and continued to make Aaron her partner!!!

And then there's my most favourite character from the entire novel: Henry!!!!! He's sweet as much as Nate, and he had no filter to his mouth just like Brin and always seemed like saying the bad thing!! But he was becoming a bff to Stas and he wasn't afraid to tell her things!! He was genuinely worried for her when he got to know she almost died, and was willing to take her into his room and give her his bed, when Nate made her angry while, he slept in an air mattress. I mean how perfect can he be, to keep girls stuff including tampons in his room because, he wanted them to be there in case someone wants them!!!!!

Everyone loved Henry, but hated him at the same time because this kid def doesn't have a brake to his mouth!!!

I was laughing when he said "please get your ass out of my face" to Stas!! But he purposely gave up the game because one more step, Stas's whole ass will be out!!!! He's just so caring and he's not afraid to show it!!!!!

He's the one who fought Aaron for her, because he didn't like the thing Aaron was saying about her and was ready to pick a fight with him!!! This boy is just so precious!!! I hope the sequel is about him, because I definitely want to know his story, more specifically when he becomes the Captain of the team after Nate!!!

This!!!!!!!!! This is what i meant by Henry being so caring and precious!!!!!!! I absolutely love this boy!!!!!!!!! And he's definitely one of the best side characters written!!!!!

He was honestly scared that something would happen to Stas!!!! I just can't believe such a guy and a friend exists, because i would give anything to have him in my life!!!! While Nate did raise the bar high, Henry raised it to its highest point!!!!! He's the epitome of THE best fictional boyfriend anyone can have, and the girl who gets him is one lucky girl!!!

If you haven't read this book, just please read it!!! Even if you don't like smut, read it like me while flipping through these scenes because this book is a gem!!!! I never thought I would rant about a book filled with smut, but here i am obsessing over the book because i could ignore all those scenes, because the plot of simply amazing!!!!
